Building For Eternity update: We are in the home stretch!

December 1: Work is proceeding towards completion.  Much of the interior work has been done.

Here you see the carpentry work for the stage in the sanctuary.  You can also see the window cut out for the baptistery.

Work on the parking lot has begun.  Crushed concrete is spread out and soon asphalt will be poured and lines painted.  You can see some of the landscaping in the islands.

The sidewalks are being poured and the roof  has been completed.

WHY A NEW BUILDING?

Monmouth Worship Center has long outgrown our current building located on Rt. 79 in Marlboro.  We are short on parking spaces, classroom space, office space, seating capacity and event space.  Due to commercial zoning codes in place, the current building cannot be expanded any more than it already has.  The only way to expand is to construct a new church building from the ground up.

WHAT WILL THE NEW BUILDING PROVIDE?

In terms of raw data, the new building will provide:

39,000 square feet of total space (double our current space)

Seating capacity in the sanctuary for 800 people (up from 490)

300+ parking spaces (up from 145)

17 meeting / classrooms

9 offices (up from 4)

Larger fellowship hall / multi-purpose room

Expanded nursery and pre-K rooms

Larger prayer room

The building will also have a hospitality room, food bank room, and four bathrooms.  The building can also be enlarged in the future as the need arises.

HOW MUCH WILL THE PROJECT COST?

The current cost is $12,187,000, a typical cost for a project of this size.  This includes the land already purchased, all of the site work, construction of the building and mortgage payoff.  We are paying for this through the sale of our current building (a contract has been signed), funds the church has saved, the Building For Eternity fund and a mortgage.

We just completed the three-year BFE Stewardship Campaign, which netted the church approximately $1.8 million. We need to raise $200,000 to complete construction on the new building.

WHAT WILL GROW WITH THE NEW SPACE WE HAVE?

Everything! The new building will not only accommodate more church members and larger Sunday services, but also allow expansion of our existing ministries and help new ministries get started.
